Volunteer Opportunities

Do you love seeing each new art show, but aren’t an artist yourself? The Arts Committee needs art fans to join them in hanging/setting up the art shows, welcoming visitors to the gallery (2-3 hr. shifts), or scheduling gallery hosts.

Are you a can-do person who enjoys ticking off the boxes while planning events? This summer, the Arts Committee could use some additional folks like you to help us organize the Art Auction fundraiser in 2021.

Do you enjoy doing art/craft activities with children? The Artist-in-Residence program includes many children’s activities in which an additional adult is needed to be a second pair of hands. Be one of several arts assistants who take turns for this fun program.

If you are a visual person (artist or not), the Arts Committee needs enthusiastic idea-people to generate ideas for future art shows, classes or experiences.

Do you love working outside or gardening? The Beautification group has scheduled four monthly work days during the summer to keep our lovely campus appealing to our citizens and many visitors. Gloves and garden tools are helpful, but not required.

Are you a Mt Morris history buff? The Arts Committee would like to coordinate the development of a Mt. Morris room in the Old Sandstone Gallery and needs some content enthusiasts to contribute to the project.

Do you have equipment (and muscles) to lend to the Straw Sculpting Competition? The Straw Committee needs folks with trailers to help pick up and set up Straw Sculptures at various sites around the area during early August and/or return them to our storage facility in September.
