Title of the Show: Old Sandstone Fine Art Show

Host: Encore! Mt. Morris, a cultural initiative of the Mt. Morris Economic Development Corp, with the goal of developing Mt. Morris into a unique, thriving, rural and cultural arts destination in northwest Illinois.

Call for entries: Encore’s fifth Gallery show of the 2017 season, this juried show is unthemed and invites a variety of media in 2D or 3D format. Artists may submit 1-3 images of their original works for consideration. Accepted art works must be the same item(s) that are displayed in the show (no substitutions). Artists must be 18 years old or older. Only those images received by the deadline will be considered.

Jury fee: The non-refundable jury fee is $25 (1 image of art piece), $30 (2 images), or $35 (3 images) and must be paid at the time of application.

2017 Jurors: Three jurors will select the art pieces for this show, and two others will award prizes. They are all from outside the area.

Awards and publicity: Awards will be presented for Best of Show, Awards of Excellence, and a Juror’s Award. Encore! Mt. Morris reserves the right to photograph all exhibited work for publicity purposes.

Sales: Art works may be available for sale during the exhibition. Please note that Encore! Mt. Morris retains a 30% commission on all art sales to cover Gallery expenses. Prices may not be changed after submission. Payment for sold art work will be issued 30 days after the close of the exhibition.

How to enter:
• Complete the Artist Application online here below, attaching 1-3 JPEG-only images of art pieces you wish to have considered for the show. Each file name should be:
last name__first name__your image #__image title.jpeg
• Images should be <2 MB each, no smaller than 1024 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi (standard web resolution), and show no frame or mat.
• Specifications for 2D art works: Maximum frame size: 48” x 48”; minimum frame size: 8 x 10”; weight: 40 pounds; frame: wired for hanging (No other types of hangers allowed); no warped, dirty or damaged frames please.
• Specifications for 3D art works: Contact us with your questions about very large works.
• Payment of entry fee: Fees can be charged through PayPal including credit cards, or via check if mailed to 105 W Lincoln St., Mt. Morris, IL 61054.

Insurance and Liability: Every care will be taken to safeguard all work shown under Encore! Mt. Morris’s sponsorship. However, neither Encore! Mt. Morris nor any of its personnel will assume liability for the loss of or damage to any art work regardless of the cause. All persons submitting artwork for the exhibition should maintain their own insurance.

Calendar
July 26: Deadline for receipt of entries (postmarks or dated online submission below)
August 4: Jury selection of art works announced via email to all artists.
August 15: Deadline for receipt of all artist agreements and all materials (artist bio/resume, photo, agreement and a description of the artistic process used to create the work)
August 30-31: Art work received by Encore! Mt. Morris; installed in Gallery
September 1: Opening reception (artists invited), 6-9:30pm
September 1-29: Exhibition dates: Sept 1, 8, 23 and at least 2 or three other times during the month.
September 30-October 2, 10am-3pm: Pickup of unsold work. Any work not picked up within 10 days after Oct 2 will become the property of Encore! Mt. Morris.
