Calling All Music Lovers,
Pickers and Strummers

We invite you to join fellow musicians and music lovers for the launch of Jam Fest 2017.
On Saturday, September 23rd, the historic Mt. Morris campus will be filled with acoustic string band music as groups and individuals connect organically for impromptu performances.

Jam grass is rooted in bluegrass, but often combines other genres, like folk, jazz and rock, into a warm style of music.

Anderlik, Otto, and Church will get the party started at 1 pm, having the reputation as one of the most versatile acoustic bands in the Midwest. All fellow musicians are invited to join in the “Campus Jam” at 2:30, at 4 pm the Rock River Strummers, featuring the Ukulele Club Players from Lindblom Math & Science Academy of Chicago take the bandshell stage.

As you wander throughout the campus, drifting from one jam session to another, chances are you won’t be able to resist a familiar mouth-watering aroma wafting in the air. The “Cheese and Jam Slam” is a culinary delight that takes a childhood comfort food to a whole new height. Better yet, grab your friends and create your own “not-your-mama’s grilled cheese” entry! Of course, every recipe must include jam!

Ogle County is bursting with artisan businesses, and our Discover Market is an opportunity to be introduced to some of these entrepreneurs. Cheese and Jam Slam special grilled cheese sandwiches will be featured along with Jen's Artisan Breads, Triple Cutt Designs, BerryView Orchard, Barker’s Brew Iced Coffee, Cakes by Dolores, Dietrich Ranch, Jan’s Honey, Oregon Soap Shoppe & Green Art, are just a few of the many locally made products. Come discover these jewels right in your own back yard.

The ENCORE! Old Sandstone Gallery, will host the fine art work of dozens of regional artists, so be sure to stroll over and experience this juried show.

Bring the whole family, Encore! Mt. Morris has organized this as a super fun, family-friendly day, filled with a little something for everyone! Living Hope and Aireloom Music Studio have teamed up to bring you The Kids Play Zone for a fun afternoon for the kids. We'll have bouncy houses, games, & kids music! It's going to be a great time!

Jam Fest is a laid back harmony of string music, simple food, beautiful art, support of local artisans, and good old-fashioned family fun. You are invited to join the celebration!
